Lakeside Machine is proud to offer a rim fire rifle that has never
been produced before. This is the only true belt fed 22LR production carbine
known. ( .17Mach2 in limited quantities)
The barrel length is 16.25" and the over all
length of the rifle is 35.5". The entire firearm weighs just under 8
pounds. It is fed by a woven cloth
belt that can be reloaded time after time. (Custom
belt lengths can be ordered to suit your needs.)
It can also be fed by
a Lakeside Machine exclusive nylon disintegrating
link that is capable of linking a belt into any length you wish. No
modifications are needed to use the links or belts, the rifle will feed both
options. This is the first firearm that has been able to satisfy the
desire for "Infinite Capacity" in a rim fire.
Each firearm will be supplied with 2- 50 round cloth belts. (longer belts
are available as well as links) The .22 cal
long
rifle versions will be fitted with hand finished walnut stocks as shown. There
were 50 22LR
rifles in this production. This rifle can be transferred to a regular
FFL dealer as a semi-automatic sporting rifle no differently than a common Ruger 10/22 you
could buy at Walmart. This rifle is totally made from scratch and
stands alone as an original.
THREADED MUZZLE>>The
Vindicator BF1 is made with a threaded muzzle with 1/2-28 threads for standard
attachments like flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and sound suppressors. Each BF1 is
manufactured with a unique removable flash hider that is also a thread
protector. (We suggest using our M22 suppressor for the BF1 as it can sustain
long busts of fire without any damage to the suppressor internals)
SIGHTS>>The
Vindicator BF1 uses a totally different design for the sight system. We call it
"The Summit Sighting System" or "SSS". The front and
rear sights are aligned together by using simple shapes that the shooters eye
can pick up easily. When the sights are aligned, the pin-point peak of the front
sight or "Summit" can be zeroed in on the smallest target accurately
without ever covering it up. With the invention of the "SSS" the
Vindicator BF1 is very accurate. Within just a few times shouldering it, the
sights become instinctive and are faster to use than conventional iron
sights.
MECHANISM>>The
Vindicator BF1 uses the same technology as the proven Browning machinegun feed
mechanism. The loaded belts or links are advanced with a cam operation operated
by the linear travel of the bolt. Each round is advanced, chambered, fired and
ejected with the simple front to rearward motion of the bolt. All fired brass is
ejected out of the bottom. With the limited energy from a 22LR cartridge, this
firearm using this mechanism is nothing short of amazing. The components of the
Vindicator BF1 are made of machine steel and tool steel, no aluminum alloy or
plastic is found in any parts other than the links that feed it. The Vindicator
BF1 carbine is a workhorse in rim fire.
STOCK>>The
Vindicator BF1 features a stock design like no other on the market today. It is
a ground up creation built and fitted to the barreled action. The Vindicator
needed to have a military look and feel but yet needed to be stylish and
functional in a shoulder fired belt fed. This mixture of demanding features led
us to Matt Shuster of the Ironwood
Designs stock and exotic
10/22 conversion company in San Jose, California. Lakeside Machine chose Ironwood
Designs because of their passion for perfection and the creativity and
artistic skill they posses in their line of wood art. Working together, Lakeside
and Ironwood Designs can up with a walnut and maple stock system that fit
perfectly and was publicly accepted overwhelmingly at the world renown Knob Creek
Machinegun Shoot and Show in October 2004.
FUTURE>>The
Vindicator BF1 is open to many new accessories and features. We are already
experimenting with a 3 partition belt/link box that will feed belts or links in
quantities of up to 200 rounds. The feed box will also recover the empty links
or belt. Since this rifle is a bottom eject system we can incorporate a brass
catcher into this design as well. If production continues a folding stock and
scope mount are thoughts for the future too.
****NOTE, These are semi-auto and are able to
be owned by anyone. We are able to make post May 1986 sample trigger packs for law enforcement
agencies or class 3 dealers if requested. (demo letter needed to start transfer)
Only 61 units were made in this
production run. Only three tactical versions were made. One Tactical BF1 remains in
our shop for reference and pattern purposes.
